Question : I am having some buzzing sound through my ear visited ENT doctor and done both pure tone audiometry and tymphanometry and both are normal and what should I do next ?should I go to neurologist ?
Brief Answer:
Acoustic neuroma is a possibility. Please consult a neurophysician.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The following might be few probable causes of buzzing sounds in ear :
1) ear wax
2)Menier's disease
3)acoustic neuroma
4) ruptured eardrum
5)benign ear cysts
As you had pure tone audiometry and tympanometry done with normal results, most of the causes can be ruled out except acoustic neuroma. For acoustic neuroma, you need gadolinium contrast enhanced MRI. Please do consult a neurophysician and discuss about acoustic neuroma.
Thanks.
