Question : I had tested positive for syphilis and was given a round of antibiotics in the form of pills. I took all of them, and the doctor didn't see the need for a follow-up check. Would it be safe to say I'm negative even if I haven't been tested?
Brief Answer:
You are cured and don't need recheck test.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
If you took the pills as advised by your doctor you are fully cured and a check test post treatment is not needed.
The primary and secondary syphilis is completely cured by a round of pills taken correctly.
Also your partner should have been cured at the same time abstaining from sexual intercourse till all skin lesions are cured.
Hope I have answered the question.
