Question : Im experiencing anxiety and agitation on the blood pressure medicine losartan hctz 100/25! Do you know anything about this drug? My arnp wont let me change prescriptions because she doesnt believe this drug has the side effect anxiety! But Im sure ever since i started taking it, my anxiety soars! What should i do?
Any thoughts?

I can understand your concern. Losartan is a safe drug and has no serious side effects and is relatively well tolerated. Anxiety and increased risk of panic is a reported side effect of the drug but is not very common. Anxiety is seen in rare individuals.

So, if there is no associated stress and no other reason for anxiety then I can say that anxiety is due to Losartan in your case.

Dose reduction can be tried and this should help.
