Question : Hi,

I have hyper acidity issue and due to that my left lower stomach pains a lot. Also, I have noticed when its paining and I release the pressure the pain goes automatically.

Also, my current blood pressure reading is between 130-80 and 140-88. So should I take high BP medicine or try to reduce the BP by breathing exercises only?

Brief Answer:
Follow the advice, maintain a healthy lifestyle...

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Well, since the left-sided pain abdomen is persisting, and there is spontaneous resolution immediately after passing motion, it may be related to inflammation of the gut (which happens mostly due to infection or any other surrounding organic ailments)...

For this reason, it'd be better if you get it checked once by a Gastroenterologist who may also suggest undergoing a few investigations (including Liver and kidney function test, Amylase, Lipase, Stool Routine, and micro-analysis as well as a USG whole abdomen), based on the findings, management can be done...

For hyperacidity issue, you may continue taking a PPI antacid course of Cap PANTOPRAZOLE 40mg once daily before breakfast for 14days and observe how you stay...

Few additional bits of advice:

- Eat in small portions but at regular intervals (have 4-5 small meals a day rather than having 2-3 large meals)...never skip breakfast and always have some healthy foods in breakfast (eg. some baked slices of bread, boiled eggs, oats, yogurt, muesli etc.)

- Avoid junk/fast/processed foods completely, no soda, no excessive sugary drinks at all...engorge into a healthy snacking habit (eg. have an Apple/bowl of salad rather than having some fries/other fast foods)...have curd daily with your lunch...avoid spicy/oily foods...

- Try to maintain a healthy sleeping habit (6-8hours of sound-sleep at a fixed routine schedule)

- Try to meditate for 15-20min daily and physical exercises for about 30min (even jogging at the nearby park, indoor free-hand exercises will be helpful in the beginning)

- Please avoid smoking/alcohol (if at all do)

- Try to have your dinner at least 2-2.5 hours before the bedtime

Regarding your blood pressure, I'd advice you to maintain a diary for the next 5days with readings taken several times in a day (at relaxed posture, in seating/lying down position) preferably by a medical professional (eg. by an experienced Nursing stuff)...if it still shows such higher range then you'll be needing blood pressure lowering medications under supervision of your treating Physician/Cardiologist...

Let me know if there're any further queries/doubts...

Take Care

Regards
