Question : Have egg size hematoma on lower right leg between calf and shin. Bruised and extremely painful. Bruise has started spreading to other parts of leg, i.e. under knee and heal. It has recently become red and swollen and still very painful. What should I do. Been x-rayed but no broken bones. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Probably cellulitis, follow the advice below

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,

The symptoms seem to be related to cellulitis.
I recommend to do an ultrasound of the lower right leg to exclude the possibility of a blot clot.
Meanwhile, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the inflammation.
If the diagnosis if cellulitis is confirmed you should take antibiotics to treat the infection.
Cold compresses can help to relieve the pain and inflammation locally.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards!
