Question : What should I do now? What chance do I have of enjoying solid foods someday? How could this go so wrong so quickly?

Hii. If you have acid reflux diagnosed already then you can start with omep

Detailed Answer:
Hii. If you have acid reflux diagnosed already then you can start with omeprazole tablet. Else to reconfirm it and to exclude other pathology you need to do am endoscopy of larynx, gastroscopy and barium swallow test. If no others pathology is present then it is acid reflux only. Avoid spicy,junk food, excessive tea, coffee. Drink plenty of water. Sleep after 2 hours of dinner. Don't wear tight clothes at night. Please review if you have any queries.

Thank you Doctor Basak,

I can’t take capsules and even have trouble with the Omep granules taken out and put in applesauce. The powder form prescribed costs $2,300 - not covered by insurance. I found a chewable, orally disintegrating tablet of Omep. Should I fight insurance company or switch to chewable Omep -- or possibly powdered Nexium.

Hii. If you found alternative chewable tablet then it is better to take it than to fight with insurance company. You can also have tablet ranitidine in place omeprazole tablet.
