Question : Hi, I have a PCOS. I found out about it 3 years ago. I took pills and my menstruation was back to regular for a year. Now, I couldn't go to the OB gyne for a check up coz the availability of the doctor is only one time during my working hours so I'm hoping of an answer here. I have been menstrating for a month already. This has been a cycle during this past 6 months. 1 month menstrating then 1 month or 2 months no period. Then I will have 1 month period again. Last time, I was off for only 3 weeks then I ha my period again until now it's been a month and 4 days already. What medicine can I take or remedies should I do to make my menstruation back to normal?
Brief Answer:
Details below.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You have not mentioned your age. What is your BMI? Following a healthy life style is extremely important to improve symptoms of PCOS.
How severe is the bleeding? If it is mild, restarting the contraceptive pills will control the bleeding. If it is heavy, You may need to take additional treatment like mefenamic acid tablet, for which you need to consult your doctor only for prescription.
To create awareness about PCOS, I had made short videos on PCOS for my patients. I have sent the link. If you wish, you may listen to it.
