Question: I have undergone a 90 day oral course of treatment for toenail fungus, and for the second time. This picture is approximately 30 days post that treatment. I recognize that it will take several months to grow out. the question is whether this appears to be on-track to resolve. Fungus is several years old, starting as a yellow streak, then slowing growing to cover about half the nail. No others involved.

Change the oral antifungal

Hi,

I have gone through your complaints and reviewed the attached photograph.
I think the fungus is very much persisting even after 2 courses of antifungals.
According to me you should change the antifungal medicine as the one you are taking doesn't seem to be very effective.
I would recommend you to take capsule itraconazole 200 mg twice daily for 1 week in 1 month.
This needs to be continued for 4-5 months.
Oral antifungals are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
