Question: My 25 year old daughter has had severe aches pains, flu symptoms but tests came back negative. Her gums have been extremely swollen and now she has blisters on them and it seems as though her gums are deteriorating where the sores are and the taste is similar to when she had her tonsils out..

Brief Answer:
You should rule out autoimmune causes also

Detailed Answer:
hey I understand that your daughter has blisters in the mouth sometimes some autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus can cause blisters and ulcers in the mouth but this is generally a chronic problem it may have been there for many weeks associated with some other symptoms like photosensitivity or fever but this could be the first episode. some other diseases like behcets which are associated with oral and genital ulcers also need to be ruled out. in case these have been excluded we can treat her with Folic acid and B complex other medications like rebapamide can be used I hope I have been helpful . regards
