Question : Hello doctor.
My name is Junaid Mahmood. I have been your patient.I was 17yrs old when diagnosed with autoimmune polyneuropathy and had been treated by you. My condition resolved it have had foot drop ever since then. I been walking and doing all activities myself. My question to you is whether there is a chance for it to relapse again. And how do I monitor that it doesn’t recur again. What symptoms and medical tests will help me realize that it recurred. I would like to know about the precautionary treatment. Also, I would like to have an online video consultation with you. I currently live in USA. Please give me an access to your consultation. I’ll be grateful.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
The chances of relapse are very low.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your clinical details. I am glad to note that you have been doing well and have had no relapse of your condition. The chances of relapse are very low (2-5%).

No periodic tests are needed.

Clinical assessment and follow up is fine. If you notice any worsening of weakness in legs or a new weakness in hands, you should consult a neurologist.

From USA, you could consult me online via whatsapp video.

Best wishes,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM
