                                            Question : hello Dr.
I am 32 years old.i had recently b12 and d vitamin defeciency. And went for full body check up. In ultra sound scan it mentioned grade 1 fatty liver and grade 1 renal bilateral parenchymal disease. All by blood reports are normal.
Creatinine is (0.9 mg/dl)
Clear urine samples(No protein trace)
Blood Urea (16 mg/dl)
Random blood sugar (109)
Sgot/Ast (19)
BP (120 /80 & 130 /83) as per those two days readings.
B12 (130)
D vitamin (15)
My mind is not getting convinced though two of my doctors said just drink enough water and test after an year. And no need to worry since creatinine is normal.
Please advice ...how frequent I should go for creatinine test and scanning.

                                    Brief Answer:
Retest in one year!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The best measure of kidney function is serum creatinine and BUN. With both being normal, there is no reason for any retesting less than a year unless needed for other purposes.
For now, get VitD and VitB12 supplements to replenish the body stores. If your doctor hasn't prescribed something yet, I can do that for you.
An ultrasound cannot be used to establish kidney disease in the absence of abnormal BUN and creatinine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

                                    Hello Dr.Ivo,
Thank you very much for your valuable advice. Now i am more confident now and leave peaceful days. Apart from consuming a less salt diet do i need to follow any specific diet constraints like low protein quantity. Long back i stopped taking any processed food , even occasional alcohol as well . Also Can i do a regular walking of 45 min.
And i am facing sleep problem due to over thinking after reading google articles on the above disease.
Please Advise.
