Question : Hello there. Since the end of March i'd been having this pain/discomfort in my groin area. I'm a 41 year old male.
It started as a dull ache/pain behind my left testicle, basically in the crease of my leg, hard to pin point. If i went out for a walk after a while the pain would subside.

I was also getting this burning pain between both legs just above my testicles. Additionally I had some discomfort in that area and at times my testicles would feel weird and at times felt like they weren't mine. I'm not sure if it was because I was focusing on them.

Went to the doctors end of April and he checked me over. On examination my testicles were a little tender, he couldn't find anything obvious and gave me some antibiotics for epididymitis. After 2 weeks on the antibiotics I don't feel an improvement.
It's now and i don't feel any improvement, if anything it's become more constant and im worried now.
Any ideas what this could be, it's really bothering me and I just feel like recently my testicles have become rather uncomfortable. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Scrotal Ultrasound scan

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query

Epididymitis is very common condition and easily treated with a course of antibiotics and pain killers. If that suspicion has got wrong, the next thing to do is a Scrotal Ultrasound scan which gives good information on what the pain is due to.

The pain in the groin could be a referred pain due to condition in the scrotum or testicles.

If the scrotal scan comes out normal, then regular exercise with stretching of conjoint tendon might give you relief.

Hope, I answered your query

Wishing you good health

Hi there,

Many thanks for your reply.

In your opinion do you think its anything serious?

Would an ultrasound of the scrotum show any problems up with prostate and what problems could a scan show in that region which would fit with my symptoms etc?

Thanks again.

Multiple possibilities

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back

Such pain can be seen due to milder conditions like infection or engorgement.

It would be wife discuss after the scan. As i said many milder conditions can cause such pain, assuming on one is illogical.
