Question : I had some bumps removed from an extraction site and they are almost healed. Under the tooth next to extraction site, the gum is protruding out and looks odd compared with other normal gum. It does not hurt and the oral surgeon looked at it and said there is bone just underneath it which I can tell as well since it is hard to the touch. My question is what would be the cause of this bony protrusion of lower gum and should it just be left alone?

Brief Answer:
It will be bone...

Detailed Answer:
Hiii thank you for approaching us for your query.

I read through your query and I must say that its absolutely normal bony protruberance in that canine premolar area. Canine area its called canine eminence. And as you told pressing over it makes the area white is called blanching (in our medical term). So absolutely its fine. Nothing to be worried. Keep calm. Calm n cool mind is best solution for any problem.

Hope you understood what I meant. Thankyou and have a healthy day. Dr Rohit
