Question : What would cause hives to break out on the chest initially, then spread to arms and legs? What kind of treatment do you recommend? I am allergic to Benedryl.

Hi,

There are many causes of hives.

It can occur due to infection in the blood, urine or stool, thyroid disorders, autoimmune in nature, allergy to food and drugs and sometimes can occur without any cause.

I would recommend you to take anti-histaminic like tablet Cetirizine 10 mg twice during for 2-3 weeks.
