Hi,

Whenever you cough or sneeze the chest muscles will go into forceful contraction which may sometimes go into spasms. These spasms can be painful and relax only after few seconds to minutes.

This is not serious, lack of exercise may be one of the cause for this.

If the pain is too severe, I would recommend a visit to a Physiotherapist.
