Question : I’m a 70 year old man. I suffered a spinal cord injury 3 years ago at level T10. I am paralyzed below my waist. I thought my schedule life was over. But several weeks ago my girlfriend got me aroused and we had sex. I didn’t have normal feeling, but I did orgasm, several times. The problem is that there was only urine that ejaculated, not semen. What’s the explanation and can I ever return to normal ?
Brief Answer:
You can go for Penile vibratory stimulation (PVS)
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Spinal cord injuries may cause impaired ejaculation like dry ejaculation (as in your case) and retrograde ejaculation. This is because of weakness or damage of nerves controlling the genital region and sexual function.
It can be treated to an extent but completely recovery takes time.
Penile vibratory stimulation (PVS) induces a strong afferent nerve stimulation and intense activation of the autonomic nervous system, and is considered first-line treatment. Drugs like midodrine may also be used along with PVS.
Consult a neurologist and he will direct you accordingly.
Wishing you good health.
