Brief Answer:
upper GI endoscopy

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX

Hyperacidity and reflux can cause generalised inflammation of the entire throat and not just the tonsils.

Hyperacidity and reflux cannot cause pus in tonsils and tonsil stones.

From details that you have given me I feel that you have two separate problems. 1) Tonsillitis
2) Reflux disease.
These 2 are not related to each other.

If tonsil infection is persistent and recurrent and if it is bothering you tooo much then the only soultion is to get them surgically removed - tonsilectomy. Till then you need antibiotics for tonsillitis preferably of the pwenicillin group.

For persistent hyperacisity and reflux you have to get an upper GI endoscopy done to know the exact pathology. It is a simple procedure and can be done in 10 minutes. Till then you need antacids and prokinetics for hyperacidity and reflux .

Regards,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi.

Brief Answer:
Other conditions need to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX

H pylori is a bacteria that can live in the stomach and cause hyperacidity.
Lax sphincter and hiatus hernia can cause reflux.
Longstanding acidity can cause ulcers in the stomach and duodenum.
Kindly check with your doctor whether these conditions were looked for when the endoscopy was done.

If the above conditions are present they should be treated and only then your symptoms will come under control.

In the meantime along with the tablets you should do some breathing exercises to improve the tone of the sphincter of the lower end of the esophagus.

Eat at regular intervals and raise the head end of the bed with a XXXXXXX
Reduce your stress levels and get adequate sleep.

The only way to treat tonsil stones is to undergo tonsillectomy.

It is unwise to prescribe antibiotics online without complete examination of the patient. Please talk to your doctor about the prescription.

Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
