Herpes 2 infection is manifested with burning pain or itching in infected area and I would not say it is similar to stabbing since pain is usually not intermiten. It is more like deep burning pain which is not very intensive. Wish you good health. Regards

Yes, it may be herpes infection but also some other issues such as fibromialgia, hylothireois, hormonal imbalance or neuropathy. I suggest to check your hormonal levels and electrolytes. Also make tests for herpes and mononucleosis. This will reveal possible problems. Wish you good health. Regards
