Posted on Fri, 27 Nov 2015
Question: I started having contractions yesterday around 5 pm and they were a half hour apart. Starting early this morning around 4 am they became 10 minutes apart and have been all day. I was dilated to 3 yesterday also. When should I go in and what are my chances of having the baby tonight? it's number 6 and only one that my water broke.

Brief Answer:
Do wait till the contractions are 8 minutes apart and are regular.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
With a cervix at 3 cm and contractions 10 minutes apart, you are likely to go into active labor soon. Do go to ER as soon as the contractions are regular and are around 7-8 minutes apart. You can take a mild laxative to increase the contractions.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
