When Do Periods Resume After An Abortion?
Question: My periods were missing for last two months and then i visited a gynacologist.I was pregnant for about 2 months. i had an abortion on 14th may and i again went to a doctor on 26th as she asked me to see her after 10 days . She has prescribed mala d to regularise the periods.asked me to take the pills for 21+7 days.i have till today taken 2 pills of iron and still not in periods. Its now been 3 months(2 months before abortion+1 month after abortion). When will i get my periods back?? I am worried..she asked me to take only 1 pack of mala d ..and its now about to get over..do i need to continue?? Pls advice..

Give your body some time.
Please finish the 7 iron pills.
You would definitely have a bleed while taking the iron pills or within a week of stopping them, so wait for 5 + 7 = 12 days more, without getting anxious.
It is normal .
Also, have you been sexually active since the abortion ?
Was a follow up scan done on the 26th of May to check that the abortion was complete ?
Was it a medical abortion or a surgical one ?

It was a surgical one and she refused to do follow up scan saying not needed. And yes i had sex once after an abortion without protection.

What are the chances of getting pregnant again after 15 days of abortion?since it was without protection,i am worried..
