When Is HRIG Injection Taken While Taking Rabipur Vaccination?

Posted on Tue, 27 Sep 2016
Question: Hi,
I was bitten by a dog 1 days ago, at 11 pm in the night while I was traveling. It was the chai walas dog. Not vaccinated chances are there that this dog can be found.

the bite was on my jeans and still there was blood of a Dorp that came out and I just washed it with some water and not wit the soap

In the morning after 14 hours I went to hospital and was put on the regime 2-1-1

But both the shots were given on the same place

Now I think I should get protected with HRIG , because doctor told me that it reduces the risk

I initially thought it's expensive , but Now I feel I can afford it .

I had two shots of rabipur on day 0 , unfortunately on the same place may be by mistake

Today is day 1 , I don't want to take risk can I get the HRIG done today even with two initial shots of rabipur

Or I should continue the rabipur ,

Is 2-1-1 enough or I should take the fifths dose also ?

Brief Answer:
You can get HRIG

Detailed Answer:
Hi

You can still get HRIG even though you have got 2 shots of Rabies vaccine.

The HRIG has to be infiltrated at the site of the wound . Kindly get it done as early as possible because the earlier the better.

Also continue the same schedule of vaccination.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.

Regards.

Is this a over dose or that have manipulated the regime

Because o found 6 doeses , is it safe

Does the vaccine work if I already have HRIG
