Brief Answer:
I would insist not to try to make him take the bottle.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Let me assure you that bottle feeding cannot be an alternative for breast feeding as the latter is by far inferior to the former. After 6 months of age, weaning with semisolids needs to be done to meet the energy requirements of the growing child. But at this age, milk becomes just an optional component of the diet so long as the calcium requirements can be met by other means. So, rather than trying to make him take a bottle, I would insist you to try and move entirely to semisolids. Breast feeding on the other hand, carries a sense or security and personal touch, something that the bottle can never provide. Unless there are constraints like working mother, I would insist you to continue breast feeding although you can try and reduce the frequency.

Let me know if I could be of further help.

Regards
