Question : I recently had on February 24th 2021. My issue was "bottle bladder obstruction". My urologist advised me that incision would be done on each prostate gland to assist in urination etc. Its been 3 weeks and I'm currently experiencing frequent urination that stings afterwards and discomfort and some pain in scrotum area. It's uncomfortable to sit upright so I slide down a bit to relieve the contact to any seat. I did have a catheter for 5 days following the surgery. I went to visit my Urologist who stated I was still in the healing process but I felt much better a week ago. He asked for a urine culture which he stated didnt return with any signs of infection. He also did a ultrasound of the bladder as wellI just doesn't feel right. When I apply pressure by sitting in the scrotum area the pressure gives me a sensation as to urinate and pain shoots from my scrotum area to the tip of my penis. I'm running out of patience and I'm becoming very desperate. When should a concern be in order to ask the doctor for him to look inside where he operated ?
Brief Answer:
Require further evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and here is my advice.
As per your history, you have similar complaints of frequent urination/pain and having normal urine culture and ultrasound which should be evaluated further.
So for further detailed examination, I would suggest you to consult with urologist. He may procure cystoscopy examination to rule out urethral stricture.
Otherwise you may require open surgery for prostate as incision wouldn't help to relieve symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I already had surgery where my Urologist placed a incision on each prostate gland to "relieve" the pressure. This surgery was 3 weeks ago. I'm experiencing frequent urination from said surgery. What are my options? I recently revisited the Urologist who advised me still in the healing stage but I don't think i should be urinating once every hour and a half after the 3 week surgery.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
As you already consulted with urologist and he assured you that it's in healing stage.
So till then I think you may require tablet tamsulosin (urimax) after urologist consultation which may help to reduce urination frequency .
If still not getting relief than you may require open prostate surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
