Question: I currently take 2 grams of nature throid each morning. I wanted to switch it to bedtime and I accidently took another 2 grams this evening. Is there anything special I should take or eat to slow down possible side affects?

Brief Answer: NO Detailed Answer: No major problems have been described in literature if you inadvertently take couple extra doses, unless you have significant heart related ailments. So there is no need to worry if the transition to nightly dosing entailed extra tablets for one day. From now on just take the night doses. However I will advise you to stop nature thyroid and take only levo thyroxine, as the former is deemed unsafe. Levothyroxine is the recommended treatment for hypothyroidism and suffices alone. Another key question to be answered is whether you truly have an under active thyroid. An endocrinologist will need to asses you in person and order some tests to ascertain this diagnosis.
