Question : Hi Doctor,
I am 30 years old female and non smoker. A couple of days back i did notice on the right side, I have a weird small bump(normal skin color) between the palatoglossal arch and my tonsils. Both of tonsil looks normal (no swelling/ same size). Also no swelling in the neck and lymph nodes. When swallowing on the right side this bump slightly irritates. Should i be concerned about this bump?

Brief Answer:
It can be lymphoid tissue
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It can be lymphoid tissue in the tonsil or acute tonsillitis/ allergic pharyngitis or inflamed tonsils or granular mucosa. But it will be better if you post a picture. In most of the cases it will be inflamed tonsillar lymphoid tissue. So start with betadine gargle alternate with warm saline gargle for 1 week. Try to non spicy food. Avoid alcohol, excessive tea, coffee. Drink more water. Take pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before food for 1 week. Please review with a picture. We will opine after seeing it.
Thanks.

Thank you doctor. I visited my oral surgeon yesterday and he mentioned that it is adenoids which got irritated. He gave me “magic mouth wash (mixture of nystatin, hydrocortisone, diphenhydramine)” to start with gargling. I have attached picture for your reference.
