Question: Hi! I want to start birth control pills only for next month to delay my period by a week due to an event I am going too. If I delay my period by a week by taking the active pills and stop taking the birth control pills after I successfully make my period late for the following month (February) will my period return 28 days after the late period I provoked in January ?????????? I have never been irregular but I really need to be off my period for a week. For example for January I am supposed to get my period on the 17th but would like to delay it until the 23rd. If I delay it until the 23rd of January and completely go off the pill. Will my next period arrive based on a 28 day cycle ?? Meaning will my period for the following month arrive February 20th ?

Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

You are right. Your periods will arrive on time of 28 days cycle calculating January 23 as your date. February 20 can be counted as next periods date.

There may be variation of couple of days next cycle. Don't worry about it.

I was googling and came across Norethisterone.. Again I am only trying to delay my period by a week no more than that. Will this alter my future period cycles as well as ovulation ? What would be more effect Norethisterone or BC pills. I honestly don't want to mess up my fertility as I am also trying to TTC. I had a baby in XXXXXXX but he passed away 4 days later due to prematurity. I want to alter my period because I am going to a wedding and also because my partner is in another country and the date when we plan to see eachother won't be around my fertile days :( So I am trying to see if using any of these methods will alter my period cycles and ovulation as well.

Brief Answer:
Bc pills are better option

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If you are worried about future cycle regularity and pregnancy, birth control pills are better option. Norethisterone does not suit you.
