When Would An Obstetrician Ask To Visit After Six Months When The Results Of A Pap Smear Test Wasn't Good?

Question: I had a bad pap smear. My gp referred me to an ob-gyn. She said to come back in six months. Is that good advice?
Brief Answer:
May be normal or minor inflammation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
After a PAP smear if your gynecologist has called you again after six months it means that either the test has come normal or there are minor inflammatory changes that are not worrisome. No need to worry.
I hope this answers your query.
