Question: hello, will try and keep brief, broke up from a boyfriend after 15 years, was very very tough and had a wilderness 2 years a bit, worked etc but was drinking and behaving in ways not like me, would sleep with guys and be silly, something I had never done, am so over this stage though and want to move on and finally am nearly there, but now! the troubling thing is a guy who I had a brief fling with last December 2013 /January 2014 contacted me this week saying he has a 'slight itch and red patch' on his penis and is getting tested for herpes (his request, his doc doesn't thinks he has this) I suddenly remembered in April 2014 after a night with a guy, I had a bad UTI and a white clumpy discharge, I remember I had a tiny itchy thing that went within 12 hours, I noticed slight cut at the top of my vagina, can't even remember if this was all together but it disappeared quickly causing no problems, btw I have always had a very sensitive vagina and it can get irritated easily with thrush/cuts/swelling down there since I was little. I also have a history with UTI's. I did however go to the docs and had a full gyno check more about the UTI than anything else and everything was clear apart from my smear was very very slightly abnormal and had a biopsy and check up every 6 months with a camera ( his problem has almost disappeared) was told apart from that I was clear of anything and heroes not mentioned. When I have read about herpes it sounds horrific, very sore blisters that last for weeks etc, I have not had this at all. I do get achy and tired but put that down to having a very stressful job the last year and being in my mid thirties :) anyway feel very stressed and panicked, do you think I should be?

ok, well that makes me feel better, but then I read about atypical herpes and get paranoid I had that, do the symptoms of atypical herpes last longer than a day? and this guy has only had his symptoms for a day I think, and is it feasible if he does have herpes he could have picked it up from a previous partner 9 months before?

Hi there, I have never actually specifically had a test, I thought it was automatically tested for but it isn't. Does this change your opinion?
