Question : Hi doctor
My heamoglobin is 9.5 and ive been advised to take Livogen tablet once a day. However I am gluten intolerant and have a severe constipation problem.
Im 39 years old , female , my haemoglobin is 9.5. Ive been advised to take Livogen tablet once a day. But this is giving me constipation. Any other iron tablet whoch will not gove constipation. I have a very sensitive stomach and usually suffer from constipation can you advise an iron tablet which will work as a laxative.

Livogen contains ferrous fumarate. This and almost all forms of iron cause constipation.

Ferrous gluconate is said to cause less constipation.
You may consider taking this form of iron.

Also take fibre supplements , high fibre diet and lot of fluids.

Can you tell me a name of ferrous gluconate medicone and what is the best time to take it ? Post lunch or Post dinner?

Any good laxative which you can recommend ? I get a bloated lower abdomen on days I dont have satisfactory motion

Fezee Tonic and Osteoz FR contains ferrous gluconate.
Post lunch or post dinner does not matter.

Regarding laxative, you can take Cremadiet Duo 2 scoops in 250 ml of water at bedtime.
