Question : Hello Doctor,
The query is regarding ear piercing for my 5 years old daughter.
We had done ear piercing for her earlier through traditional needle method and in between once when we tried to change the ear ring, after removal she had resisted and after 2 days the hole in ear lobe had closed.
Now that she grown up the traditional method could be difficult as she may not cooperate, we are thinking of gun shot method but there are mixed opinion regarding the same.
Does this way of piercing come under Pediatrician (or) ENT (or) Dermatologist /Dermatosurgeon?
Could you please let me know if it is advisable and safe method?
If you could please suggest any centres in XXXXXXX it would be of great help and I take the onus / responsibility of the decision.

It is usually done by surgeons, esp pediatric surgeons. Some pediatricians too do the procedure. It is relatively safe, easy and without complications.

I am sure many of the pediatricians would be doing it or would be able to refer to a reliable surgeon.
It is a simple procedure, can be done in a clinic setup.
