Question: What is the safest sleep rx that can be taken with 750mg levaquin and 50mg prednisone. I see my psychiatrist soon and would like some suggestions

Benzodiazepines can be used on SOS basis.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. For some time if the problem of sleep is not persistent you can take Benzodiazepines or Z drugs on SOS basis. Clonazepam, Lorazepam, Alprazolam or Zolpidem, Zopiclone etc., can be kept as options. The drugs are safe to use and can be used on SOS basis. The drugs has no serious interactions with Levaquin or Prednisolone.

For regular use for long time other drugs like Amitriptyline, Mirtazapine etc., can be used. Trazodone you already tried. But even this can be used while on Levaquin or Prednisolone.

You can discuss with your doctor for that.

Would you be able to tell me which sleep aid would be lowest risk for upset stomach? Levaquin already upsets my stomach some especially when I forget not to drink milk while on it. Unfortunately because of my medical history levoquon is the only antibiotic that works on me for lung infections like brohncitis.
