default
Posted on Thu, 23 Jun 2016
Question: I was attacked by a dog on 5/6/16 and one of the bites took out a piece of my calf muscle. I received 20 stitches both internal and external. I am still completely non weight bearing. How long do you think it will be before I can walk again? What type of physician would be best to see for after care? I'm Currently just going to wound care.

Brief Answer:
It will take six weeks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

It is necessary for a period of six weeks rest before you can start walking again after calf muscles damage.

An Orthopedic surgeon can evaluate better your condition, extension of muscles damage, any vessels or tendons damage etc.

So, I suggest you to consult with a Orthopedic surgeon and to discuss about your concerns.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
