Question : Hello, we have a 16 year old female with recurrent headaches, severe at times, intermittent fever (99-103) and intermittent nausea (actually vomited only once) that has been going on for seven days now. She has been tested for Mono and Covid19 with negative results. She has been in bed and we are concerned due to the length of time and constant medication she has been taking due to the fever and headache. Something is wrong and we feel like she is being broad-brushed by local phycisians due to the current strain on our healthcare system.
Brief Answer:
Do total blood count, urine analysis and stool culture.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I want to ask you for more details if she has ear ache, a photo of her throat and if it is hurting or not and also if she is having diarrhea or not, does she have muscle and joint pain , abdominal pain , toothache etc
I can suggest you to do a total blood count and stool sample.
Also it is very important to do an urine analysis and uroculture because it can be an urinary tract infection.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
