Why I’m Feeling Chills On My Body?

Posted on 2 days ago
Question: Worried about why I’m feeling chills on my body? I started out on Oct 31, 2020 with bad chills, body aches, sweats at night. I still have some chills. They gave me azithromycin and didn’t seem to help. I still have some chills. I did a CBC with diff two days ago and it was all normal. Flu test negative too. Could viruses etc last this long. Didn’t know if I needed to worry about something really bad with still having chills. And I specifically would like an internal medicine doctor to answer this.

Brief Answer:
Could be infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question, I understand your concern.
First of all you should check your body temperature regularly, If body temperature is raised then it could be due to any type of infection.
Now as you said CBC is normal, it could be some type of viral infection or fungal infection.
So it could be common flu and yes flu may last longer than what you think and other condition could be urinary tract infection due to any fungus.
So my advice is, get throat culture sensitivity test done and urine culture sensitivity test done.
I hope your query is clear now.
Thanks and regards

I have never ran a fever in all this. Always check temperature. Sometime I just get chills on legs and arms. More than normal. Didn’t know if chills or goosebumps are a concerning symptom for a doctor

Brief Answer:
Goosebumps are normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question, I understand your concern.
Chills and Goosebumps are not same things, if you are getting Goosebumps then that is completely normal and nothing to worry about.
But if you are getting chills that is completely different thing.
But now I understand that you don't get Chills, you actually get Goosebumps so nothing to worry about.
I hope your query is clear now.

Yeah it’s not the chills like one would get during a flu. Those chills are more like body aches. The feeling I am getting Is better explained as a heightened sensitive feeling more of tingly feeling on arms and legs.

Brief Answer:
Could be neuropathic pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question, I understand your concern.
This could be neuropathic pain.
It could be due to vitamin b12 deficiency.
Get NCV test done and vitamin b12 levels.
If do not want to spend money on above test, start vitamin b12 supplements and within 15 days you will feel improvement.
I hope your query is clear now.
