Question : after a valor plate and screw removal I have persistant stiffness and reduction in ROM. the Dr. notes are severe narrowing of the radial scaphold joint space,moderate narrowing of the radiolunate joint space. Mild ulnar translocation of the carpus. Moderate triscaphe and first CMC joint degenerative changes with shortening of the thumb. my question is in order to easiely explain how all this is related to and a result of the origanel broken wrist. I am makeing this explaition to an insurance adjustor that is relucktant to pay. CAN YOU HELP

Kindly provide details of the original injury diagnosis. Were these arthritic changes present previously? If yes, then there is less scope of wondering if the surgery caused you this problem. Also arthritis is not uncommon after orif and plating which would have been mentioned in the consent form you signed before having the operation.
