Brief Answer:
You should go to the ER to exclude cardiac problems.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Numbness in the left hand is usually caused by a pinched nerve in the arm,so it is a nerve conduction dysfunction.
But sometimes numbness,in left hand can indicate heart problems.
So,to exclude this type of origin of the numbness I suggest you to go to the emergency room and get a check up done.
Some examinations that I suggest are:
-physical examination
-an electrocardiogram
-a complete blood count

Hope my answer was helpful.
