Why Am I Experiencing Pain In The Eye And Head When Diagnosed With Glaucoma?

default
Posted on Thu, 20 Dec 2018
Question: I have glacoma. My doctor was giving me drops for my eyes and I was seeing him every 3 months and it changed to every 5 months in November 2017. Lately I have sharp pains in my right eye and different times during the course of the day. I am getting scared and wonder should I go to the emergency. I also have sharp pains in the middle part of my head. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Yes, that is a must.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting.

If you are experiencing the eye pain and head pain, and you are already diagnosed with Glaucoma, I would suggest that it is time for a new drug therapy, or a change in the dosagement. You need to arrange as soon as possible an appointment with your ophthalmologist.

Also, let him know if you have been regular with the medications, and that you have not skipped the schedule.

Also, it is important to consider if recently you have taken other drugs, vitamins or supplements that may be affecting the effect of the Glaucoma therapy that you were taking from before.
Discuss all of this as soon as possible with your ophthalmologist.

Hope this helps.
