Question: I am still having problems with my knee I can not bend it all the way flat.. the docor said I have it band syndrome.. I tried a little physical therapy but it would feel better for a while and then it would go back to not being able to straighten it .. I can exercise on the bike without pain and walk without pain as long as I do not straighten it.. X-rays do not show anything..sometimes it can get a little swollen and I will put ice on it.. no injuries to the knee.. I had been increasing my tension on my elliptical when I woke up with the pain one morning.. it has been almost 2 months .. anything you can recommend exercises?? Thanks so mucjh!!!

Brief Answer:
Physiotherapy will help in long term.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The inability to straighten the knee is likely to be related to IT band syndrome. Physical therapy is the best way to improve your symptoms. It is best to do a regular physiotherapy under a proficient physiotherapist. Regular hot compress and using a pair of knee supports can add to the stability. You can also get oral muscle relaxants prescribed in case the pain is persistent.

I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Biking will help.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Walking for long hours can aggravate the inflammation and pain. Biking is a better exercise but try not to overdo it. Stop doing it just before the pain starts. Gradually increase the intensity of exercise so as not to injure the knee. Usually the improvement is seen in 6-8 weeks.
