Allergic rhinitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir
Thank you for asking Ask A Doctor service.
I have gone through your query with diligence. Your upper respiratory tract problem can be most likely due to Allergic rhinitis. For this you should avoid from dust and allergens. Decongestant spray that you use won't be effective for this. You will need corticosteroid nasal sprays like Fluticasone. Taking combination of anti allergic agents like Cetirizine and mast cell stabilizers like Monteleukast is also advised.
The other problem you described is gastritis. If you getting dark stools then it can be due to bleeding from upper gastro intestinal tract which is usually due to peptic ulcer. For this avoid spicy fatty oily and junk foods. Prefer steamed foods. Take light meals at short intervals like 4 hours. Taking Proton pump inhibitors like Esomeprazole daily at empty stomach is also advised. You can also take sucralfate syrup half an hour before meals which will help to heal any ulcers if present.
Gastritis and laryngopharyngeal reflux can in turn cause upper respiratory irritation and allergy also.
If there is no improvement then a consultation with gastro enterologist and doing Fibrogastroduodenoscopy is recommended.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help.
Thanks.
