Brief Answer:
Its probably due to obesity

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

The difficulty in climbing is probably due to obesity. It has been observed that in obesity, greater movement is needed at joints (greater hip abduction and greater knee extension). This can be one factor. Other factors can be higher chances of back pain and knee pain (osteoarthrtis).
Breathing is also affected as obese people breathe rapidly and shallowly. This can lower the amount of oxygen and other nutrients reaching the muscles and other organs. This also results in shortness of breath during climbing stairs. All these factors can collectively result in difficulty in climbing stairs. Deep breathing, breathing exercises, pranayama can help.

If your cholesterol is normal and no cardiovascular risk (like high BP and heart problem), then there is no need to continue cholesterol medicines.

Hope it clears your doubt. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Yes it can be

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Olmesarton side effect is high pulse rate and low blood pressure. So yes, it's probable culprit behind high pulse rate.
Body aches is also a possible side effect because oxygen supply maybe little reduced due to high pulse rate. Otherwise muscle pain is known side effect of cholesterol lowering medicines.
