Question : I just started taking sulfameth/th800/160mg tb for prostate infection. Now I am having stomach pain across my abdominal area

Hi,

Abdominal pain is a side effect that can occur with the use of this antibiotic. Unfortunately abdominal pain can occur with many different antibiotics. Gastrointestinal symptoms are common side effect of antibiotics , persons may also experience loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting

It (this particular antibiotic) can also be associated with stomatitis (inflammation of the stomach), hepatitis (inflammation of the liver) and pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), in a minority of persons who use this medication.

If the pain is severe or persistent then you may want to consider speaking to your doctor about your pain so that you can be assessed.
The medication may need to be changed if there no other cause found.
