Question: I have abdominal pain almost exclusively at night. It wakes me up. Pain is almost immediately relieved by sitting up. Hardly any pain during the day. Been going on for about a month. When it first occurred I had a cat scan. No indication of kidney stones or diverticulitis

Brief Answer:
Peptic ulcer.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It can be peptic ulcers.
The most common symptom of peptic ulcers is abdominal pain. The ulcer pain can feel like burning, or gnawing, and it may go through to the back. Pain often comes several hours after a meal when the stomach is empty. The pain is often worse at night and early morning.Due to the food irritating the stomach mucosa directly as it touches it, we get pain. Stomach ulcer causes pain soon after eating while duodenal ulcers cause pain few hours after eating

Test suggested-Endoscopy
Till then take an omeprazole daily to control symptoms..
