Question: finished 6 weeks of antibiotics for prostatitis. I have developed redness around head of penis,itching ,pain urinating. please help

Hello,

Based on the facts that you have posted the itching over glans penis that you have after taking antibiotics for 6 weeks is mostly due to fungal infection Muco Cutaneous Genital Candidiasis which is very common in a person with uncontrolled Diabetes.

Please get your blood sugar level tests done on empty stomach and 2 hours after lunch to confirm the same.

Start taking Fuconozon and Nitrofurantoin twice daily along with topical anti fungal jelly like Daskyl or Candid for local application over glans penis.

If blood sugar levels suggest Diabetes you will need to consult qualified Physician or Diabetologist for proper management of the same.

Ensure to wash your genital with warm water twice daily
