Question : i have morning panic while on trazodone. my dr. has me on 300 mg.for depression and anxiety. 150 mg.
( half of this) at night before bed. i wake up several times at night with panic and always panic in the morning. i can't stand it anymore. i tried other antidepressants before this that just made me more anxious, so now iv'ee been on trazodone for 2 months. isn't there anything else? can the trazodone be causing this, because i never woke up in panic before. he gave me valium for anxiety, but it doesn't help.

Brief Answer:
Paroxetine can be tried.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Trazodone is a good antidepressant drug and has great actions in insomnia too. But the drug has not much actions in panic symptoms. If even with 300 mg you have multiple awakening and panic symptoms then the drug should be changed.
Did you try Paroxetine in past?
Paroxetine can be used to control anxiety and panic symptoms. The drug will help in sleep too. Along with this drug for some time Valium or Klonopin can be used. The drugs will control severe anxiety. You can talk with your doctor for these drugs.
I hope this helps you, please don’t hesitate to ask again if you need more help.
Thanks and Take care.
