Brief Answer:
Raised ALP suggests need to have expert help.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Simple liver cysts are mostly due to congenital (since birth) in form. Many times seen in families. They can also be due to tape worm infestation or cancerous in few cases.
All of your liver function tests are within normal limits except for serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP)which is slightly raised (normal limit being 45 to 115 U/L).

ALP is an enzyme present in liver, bile ducts or bones. So it's raised value indicates disease or damage to these tissues and needs to be diagnosed earliest followed by treatment to avoid further damage. Treatment is mostly laparoscopic removal of the cysts.
You therefore need to get it examined by expert(gastroenterologist )for further management.

I hope that answers your query. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

- Normal highest level of ALP is 115 and yours is 132 U/L. so it is not very high. Still rise in ALP level with multiple hepatic cysts does suggest possibility of liver or bile duct problem that needs to be managed well and as was advised earlier earliest diagnosis and needful treatment would prevent further advent of the condition. So this is the time to take the signal &proceed to diagnose / exclude / treat serious hepatic problem in time.

- Smoking though does not cause direct rise in ALP. It does accelerate liver problem in alcoholism.

- Liver plays a role in metabolism of by products of Montelukast. So when taken in excessive dosage for a long time. it can cause liver problem &rise ALP level.

- High IgE is seen in more than 50%cases of liver disease or damage but IgE Itself may not cause liver problem.

* All these factors need to be considered while diagnosing the cause of raised ALP, a careful management of your allergy and bronchitis (with cheat specialist's consultation / stopping smoking and alcohol. If applicable / assessment of hepatic cysts by CT scan/MRI would find the answer to your problem.

I hope that satisfies you. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thank you.
