Question: I have pain the shoots up and down from right knee. It quite painful after I have being sitting in a chair for an extended period of time. I also officiate basketball games and notice the same pain while stretching before the game, running during the game & after the game. It appears to be getting worse and impacting my sleep. Brief Answer:
What was your doctor's opinion

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand what you are going through. It is even worse when you are athletic or in sports.
What was your primary doctor's opinion
At this time we just have to wait for the MRI and its report. Some general suggestions for now
1) Do not indulge in sports and give it rest.
2) Avoid cross leg positions or any position that increases the pain
3) Continue physiotherapy
4) Take over the counter pain killers liberally unless you are advised not to because of kidney or heart conditions
5) Icing to the skin over the painful areas numbs it a bit and relieves you for couple of hours
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
