Brief Answer:
pain medication- oral and topical , decongestants, rest, fluids

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

The most likely cause of your symptoms is a viral infection affecting the respiratory tract.

Symptoms may progress and may reach a peak by day 3 to 5.

In most persons, symptoms improve by day 10 to 14.

The absence of fever means that bacterial infection of the throat/strep throat , is not likely.

Treatment is symptomatic, this means treating specific symptoms, not the virus itself.
Treatment involves-(1) rest and fluids. The fluids help to decrease the thickness of the secretions so that they can be expelled easily

(2)pain medication along with the gargles. Ibuprofen or naproxen would help with the pain in your throat.
There are also gargles with pain killers eg chloroseptic or covonia throat spray

(3)anti histamine/decongestant combination can help if the nasal secretions become bothersome eg zyrtec d, allegra d, claritine d, benadryl d

(4) if you develop a cough which becomes wet, then you can use a mucolytic eg mucomyst to help break up the mucus

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
