Brief Answer:
Prednisone may give delayed response in many instances.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

* In many instances, prednisone does take a longer duration of time for response.

* If the amount of pain is substantial, then addition of anti inflammatory medicines
after discussion with your doctor is recommended.

* In my clinic, I recommend
- Local application of analgesic ointment or spray as per the pain intensity.
- Exercises of joint mobilization with qualified physiotherapist to prevent further
joint stiffness.
- Balanced nutritious diet to avoid any nutritional deficiencies.

Hope this information will clear your doubt to some extent.
