Question : I had an abdominal repair done in 2014 through my groin. I just urinated and when wiping my self there was long strong threads on the toilet tissue. Is it possible for the mesh covering to disintegrate or shred. I am a nervours wreck.(about 8 strands of different lengths) very strong

I can certainly understand your concern

I have worked through your attached query in detail

It's unlikely for the mesh to disintegrate in this way.

It's important to rule out hematuria ( passage of blood in the urine).

I advise you to get an ultrasound abdomen and complete Urinary examination at the earliest to determine further course of action.
