Why Does The Plantar Surface Of My Heels Hurt For The Last Several Weeks?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Jan 2022
Question: For the last several weeks, the plantar surface of my heels hurt, no matter what shoes I wear, or how much I walk during the day. The pain keeps me awake at night. I also have a severe muscle pain in one thigh. Today, for no reason at all, one finger is slightly swollen, and extremely painful. Not sure these weird things are related, but thought you would be better qualified than i am to decide.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Possible plantar fasciitis

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

As per your symptoms you seem to have plantar fasciitis which means Inflammation of the fascia.

I generally prescribe oral pills of analgesics like Diclofenac 75mg and local application of Diclofenac gel to my patients to relieve the pain.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to improve your symptoms.

Prevention of plantar fasciitis: take care of your feet. Wear shoes with good arch support and heel cushioning. If your work requires you to stand on hard surfaces, stand on a thick rubber mat to reduce stress on your feet. Do exercises to stretch the Achilles tendon at the back of the heel.
